Tish and Jun shared their memorable day with their relative and friends with a Brisbane Customs House Wedding.
I’ve known Tish for about 5 years, first meeting at UQ Dance.
I received a text message one day from Tish asking about my photography prices and thought she was referring a potential couple to me. Little did I know that she was enquiring for her own wedding!
I met up with Tish and her bridal party, Marion and Julie during the preparation at the Marriott. As Tish and her mom’s hair and makeup was done by Cherry of Bridal Hair and Makeup Brisbane, Tish got a little worried; Again, in similar fashion to their Wynnum Esplanade portraits session, storm clouds started to roll in threatening rain on their wedding day.
Jun made an executive decision to move the wedding into Brisbane Customs House as Tish made her way from the Marriott in the drizzle. As we approached, the staff at Brisbane Customs House came rushing out to their aide with umbrellas to get the bridal party out of the rain.
Undeterred and all smiles from the mad dash, Tish and Jun were joined by their family and friends who travelled from all over the country, Canberra and Sydney to witness their marriage. The wedding was officiated by wedding celebrant Geoff Mazlin along with several readers. Christine, Jun’s sister who read a poem he had written especially for Tish and Tish’s aunt who gave a reading of her own.
As the bridal party adjourned for their canapés, I spent some time with the bridesmaids for some photos on the balcony as the waiting room welcomed some crashers, Jun’s friends from Sydney. So, hey, we got them into the photos too!
During the reception, Jun sang “I won’t give you up” by Jason Mraz as part of their first dance before finishing with a bridal waltz. Being my first time in Customs House, I was stunned by the view overlooking the reception hall with the beautiful star pendant hanging above the hall where they completed their dance.
As the reception ended, we wrapped up the remaining half of the portrait location photos without time constraint around Brisbane Customs House. Due to the rain, we stayed dry and indoors, making full use of the beautiful interiors of the Brisbane Customs House.
All in all, the rain did little to dampen their mood.
Tish and Jun being all smiles and surrounded with friends and family throughout the day.
