When I went back to Malaysia in July last year for the Malaysian Salsa Festival, I heard a Japanese Bachata song in one of the clubs. Having done most of my dancing in Australia, its quite unheard off to hear Bachata done in anything other than English or any of the South American languages.

So, I got the name of the song from the DJ on a piece of paper and put it in my friends hand bag, subsequently forgot about it. Since then, I have been searching for that song or even any Japanese Bachata music to no avail.

Finally, after 5-6 months of searching, I decided sent the DJ an email and she sent me the song!

Maybe, I will save you 5-6 months of searching =)
Right-click and click “save target as..” to save it.

If you know any Japanese Bachata Songs, send me an email. Im interested in listening to it.

For my non-Dancer readers

If you have no idea what Bachata is, I have a video of it here

According to my housemate, the name of the original song(most latin songs are remixed/redone with latin beats) is Fukuyama Masaharu – Sakurazaka. Heres the vid, enjoy =)

Note: I found out that the song is actually Bolero but at the same time, read that Bachata did come from Bolero and in the early days was danced to bolero music. Due to my lack of awareness of bolero music, I was lead to believe this was a bachata. That said, if I were to hear this song in the clubs, I would still dance bachata to this because I have no idea how to Bolero.
