My mom’s take on my love life

Just got back from Sydney today and I was supposed to upload the photos from the Brisbane Salsa and Brazilian Congress while I was down there but I couldnt get a stable internet connection to upload the photos from the performances. So here they are:

Back on topic, I recently spoke to my mom and this is what came up:

Su Yin says (12:05 AM):
U meet so many hot chicks..hasnt anyone struck yr fancy

Min Wye says (12:05 AM):
are you getting worried that i wont be able to find anyone? haha

Su Yin says (12:06 AM):
I’ll be worried if U r older but U r still young

Su Yin says (12:06 AM):
hmmm  dont break too many hearts …bad karma

PS – Apparently, if you know me and you’re a girl, my mom thinks youre hot.

PPS – and this is my friends reaction:

Jin says (12:16 AM):
You can’t make an omelete without breaking a few eggs.

Jin says (12:17 AM):
Wait a sec LoL this is not eggs.

I have very random people in my life

Min Wye the groomsman

One of my best friends, R from Malaysia just asked me to be one of his groomsman! Personally, its quite an honor especially he is the first from our group from high school to get married(this is a sign that Im getting to that age where all my friends are starting to get married)

I was pretty ecstatic about the news and after I calmed down a little, I realised that I had no idea what a groomsman role is at a wedding! other than looking good which I clearly cant do btw and standing by the grooms side through the wedding. So, I decided to do abit of research and asking around experienced wedding-goers for advice and compiled my personal list of responsibilities/to-dos:

1) Be pro-active about tux renting/buying:
This is probably the most important responsibility(ref: looking good) especially since R lives in New Zealand and I live in Australia. I would’nt want to be the oddball of the groomsmen party.

2) Organize my plane ticket ASAP:
I guess this would be more of a financial issue(cheaper flights =D ) but more importantly, I will actually be able to get a flight for the wedding.

3) Clarify R’s expectations of me being his groomsman(which will add to this list):
What does R expect of me on the wedding day itself. Because I wont be there for alot of the other events(engagement, bachelor party?) I have to step it up a notch on the day itself. Who knows, I might have to end up preparing a speech for the day. This would be best handled when I go over in July.

4)  Remember the names of the bridal and groom party, family:
This is going to be a toughie especially since I barely know any of R’s friends from New Zealand and I actually haven’t met his fiance(yes, I know her name, Im not that hopeless)

5) Try to provide as much moral support to R over the coming months to the wedding:
As much as I can only provide this support over the internet via Gchat, I will do as much as I can in July when I go over.

This is my first time being a groomsman so Im pretty sure Ive missed many things. Do share your experiences or knowlegde =)
