5. Other peoples T-shirts: With t-shirts like this one, who wouldnt be distracted but its a minor once a day occurance which doesnt reduce production.

Wahoo, the office fish

Wahoo, the office fish

4. Wahoo -  You might think that he is just a fish! but he is truely the master at distraction. Everyone puts aside time from work to watch him swim around, feed him and pity him for not having a mate who he blows bubbles for =( We still give him his space as he gets touchy when there are too many people around, hence the 4th spot.

Krispy Kreme

3. Food – It is an integral part in our daily production at work. Never will there be someone without food in the office. Its a chain reaction of taste buds and most of the time, its just Tim and me. Today, the bane of humankind, Krispy Kreme was devoured within minutes of entering the office. That is all thats left of it. Om nom nom nom.

2. Facebook – self-explanatory but you might be wondering, what could be more distracting that facebook? the sounds of laughter, ooh-ing and eww-ing, its…

…the Jack of Hearts

Mad Hatter

Mad Hatter

I love costume parties, everyone dressed up as different personae, role-playing the characters they dressed up as. The worst part of a costume party for me is choosing what to go as….Im fickle and lack very little execution. To make matters worst, the theme was Alice in Wonderland (or Kitty in Wonderland) which left me in such a dilemma that I didnt make my costume until 5 minutes before I left the house……

Alice(Kits) and Jack of Hearts

Alice(Kits) and Jack of Hearts

Ok, it wasnt a great costume(if it is even one) but what do you want me to come up with in 5 minutes? Even though i failed massively at dressing up, other people at the party did an awesome job. It doesnt matter if my costume is bad since im behind the camera most of the time, no?

Mushroom

Mushroom

There were mushrooms, does it count as bad luck if the proverbial mushroom head is an umbrella?

3 of Spades and a dog

3 of Spades and a dog

Evidently, they put in more effort into their costume than I did…..

Garden Tea Set and Alice

Garden Tea Set and Alice

A pretty full on costume entourage. A teacup, flower pot…..and a sugar cube!! of course, not forgetting Alice herself…

Cup Cakes

Cup Cakes

What better way to celebrate a tea birthday party than with cupcakes….I didnt actually get a chance to eat a cupcake with all the other great indonesian food available. Made by…

The Chef

The Chef

None other than Kits parents who cooked a feast over a whole week! I must say, its got to be one of the best feeds Ive had in Brisbane.

Pink Gorilla?

Pink Gorilla?

I spotted this cute thing lying around on one of the chair. Wonder who it belonged to and of what costume it was part of?

Everyone

Everyone

Picture of the crowd. Again, couldnt have gotten this shot without the help of Kit’s parents spotting me a location to shoot from! spot tweedle-dee and tweedel-dum..easily the best costumes of the party…

Kits in Wonderland

Kits in Wonderland

Finally, none other than the hostess herself, Kits.

Happy 21st Birthday!

…having Monday Blues

I can count with my 2 hands the number of times when Brisbanians come out to celebrate an event together.  To celebrate the Brisbane River, River Festival is held every year around September and it is kicked off with a 30 minutes fireworks display from 3 bridges(Good Will Bridge, Story Bridge and Victoria Bridge) along the Brisbane River as well as the iconic “Dump and Burn” which features an F-11 fly across the Brisbane River which as its title says, dumps its fuel and burns it. Heaps of people, cramped up along the Brisbane River = very hard to find a good spot to shoot, I had to make do. Pictures!

Wheel of Brisbane, our idea of Eye of London. Although slightly pointless, I find it pretty cool.

Wheel of Brisbane

The Wheel of Brisbane, built and was open on the day of River Fire. It is our version of the Eye of London, feels like abit of a rip-off but meh, its quite an amazing sight to see either way.

My View

My View

Unfortunately, I arrived to the scene 5 minutes late watching the F-11 fly through shrouds of tree. Thankfully, after abit of shoving and squeezing, I landed myself a pretty sweet spot next to the man-made beach with an open air view of the sky.

Fireworks

Fireworks

Out of the 200+ photos i took that night, with the lack of preperation and experience with fireworks shots, I landed with a record low 3% succesful shot rate……6 pictures and thats just mediocre shots. Quality pictures….none(its a crime that I take photos, I know)

Heart shaped fireworks

Heart shaped fireworks

This was probably the highlight of the crowds(mainly girls) night. Heart shaped fireworks!! I swear everytime that thing went off, every girl in South Bank screamed and even with my half deaf right ear, it was startling….but it wasgreat cause it served as my indication to turn over to get the shot. Its my favourite picture of the night although not technically the best.

Got Milk?

Got Milk?

After being stuck in the jam out of South Bank, we ended the night with some dinner and dessert at our usual…..
